JACKSON, Tenn.—One organization helps local kids get ready for the upcoming school year.

R.O.T.O. Nation hosted its Back to School Bash today.

The event was held at 200 B. Stonebridge Blvd in Jackson.

Members of the group were there stuffing backpacks with school supplies and giving them away to kids in need.

The event began at 12:30 this afternoon and continued on until 2:30.

The bash also included free food for those who participated.

R.O.T.O. is a non profit organization that works to support youth and help them to develop needed skills to achieve success for the future.

“Without the youth today, there’s no tomorrow. So, we want to be able to revolutionize tomorrow’s opportunities to be able to give to those who need it most,” said Lamar Newby,  Founder, R.O.T.O. Nation.

This was the organization’s first event since its start in January of this year.
