Bloodmobile gets new look, showing off West Tennessee treasures

JACKSON, Tenn. — One popular vehicle that just about everyone in West Tennessee would recognize has a new look.

Close your eyes and imagine the LIFELINE Bloodmobile. It probably doesn’t look how you remember.

“This wrap is so unique and so cool, because you find something cool every time you look at the wrap, because all the designs are so intricate and they pull you in,” said LIFELINE’s marketing manager Melinda Reid. “The designs are reflective of the 21 counties that we serve. Their individual landmarks, and their festivals and parades, and what they’re known for are all reflective in this wonderful design.”

The bloodmobiles that LIFELINE has in circulation — the ones that you see in your town at home — they serve a really big purpose. Reid tells us a little bit about how great of an impact they have.

“We have four bloodmobiles that are in circulation in the 21 counties that we serve about six days of the week,” Reid explained. “They account for about 75% of the blood collections that we have for our patients here in West Tennessee.”

If you want to see this bloodmobile in person and dig deep to look at all of the artwork and see how your county is represented, it won’t be too much longer before you might see it around.

“This bloodmobile will be in circulation very soon,” Reid said. “Our August blood drive calendar will soon be released and it will be on the road in the month of August.”

This is actually the second bloodmobile that artist Kris Stewart has worked on for LIFELINE Blood Services.

The goal behind the redesign is to hopefully draw more people in to donate blood, while also celebrating the areas around West Tennessee.
