Residents react to President Biden’s announcement

JACKSON, Tenn. — We spoke to members in the local community about their thoughts on President Biden dropping out of the 2024 campaign.

Many people we spoke told us that President Biden should have dropped out of the race earlier, and that this move would increase legitimacy of Trump’s campaign.

Some of them even expressed happiness that President Biden was out of the race.

Some showed concern that whoever replaces President Biden as the Democratic nominee would continue the same policies the Biden administration created.

Some that showed support for President Biden said that if Vice President Kamala Harris received the Democratic nomination that they would support her.

“It’s been a long time coming for President Biden so, uh, good luck to him in whatever endeavors he does and, uh, so long,” said Mississippi resident Ray Williams.

“I just hope people wake up and realize that our country it’s in trouble and we need someone that’s going to follow the constitution,” added Vicki Williams.

We spoke to many more residents, but they chose not to appear on camera.
