Manufacturer celebrates expansion in Humboldt

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — A big expansion was celebrated Wednesday morning, bringing job opportunities and more to a local city.

Reinhausen Manufacturing is a well-known factory to locals, as it started it’s first American operations in January of 1987 in West Tennessee.

Over the years, the company has expanded physically in location and employees, but also in technology.

President & CEO Bob Vary shares one of the greatest changes.

“Technology that we built back in the late 80s, early 90s, had relatively simple controls, whereas today, you know, one of the reasons for our expansions is what we call our embedded transformer operating system, or ETOS,” Vary said. “And that’s a digitally-enabled control system that allows us to monitor not only the product that we build here, but the overall transformer, and help our customers make smart decisions about how to run their assets.”

You may remember hearing about this latest expansion last December, as Reinhausen held their ground breaking.

“I’d say the feedback that we’re getting is people are excited about the fact that we’re expanding to meet the demand of the marketplace,” said Vary. “So if you follow the energy market and transformers specifically, the demand in the United States far exceeds the supply.”

With this in mind, the push for growth has allowed big results for their company and employees.

“We expanded our capacity by 25% by adding the additional space here in the facility, plus we were able to bring some office employees that were working remotely back to the factory with the expansion on the front of the facility as well,” he said.

The company has invested $3.5 million in capital, according to Vary. And there is still more opportunity for growth among employees as new jobs become available.

Vary also shared that over the next three years, they will look to add 30 positions in the company. Those positions would include engineering, technology, productions, or supervisor roles.

Reinhausen Manufacturing is located at 2549 North 9th Avenue in Humboldt.
