‘Diamond Shruumz’ candy edibles recalled after causing illnesses
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Health is investigating cases of severe acute illnesses following the consumption of a specific candy bar.
Diamond Shruumz brand chocolate bars, cones and gummies have been discontinued from stores.
Reported symptoms include seizures, abnormal heart rate and blood pressure, nausea and vomiting.
According to Public Information Officer Ginger Rowsey from the Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department, you should avoid consuming mushrooms containing edible products that claim to produce psychoactive effects.
“The products were recalled and should’ve been pulled from all store shelves. The issue is, that as recent as last week, officials are still finding these products on store shelves and they may still be available to purchase online. So, what we were posting yesterday and what the department of health is trying to help to put out is just to remind people not to consume these products and remind them of the recall,” said Rowsey.
Rowsey said that if you consume this product, seek help from a doctor immediately.
