The Metro Nashville Police Department shared Thursday morning that they were searching for 33-year-old Alexandria Chmiel, who was visiting the city from New Jersey.
Metro Nashville PD stated Chmiel was reported missing around 3:42 a.m. after being separated from her friend in the downtown area.
Police say a search was launched in the area, and shortly after 9 a.m., the department shared on social media that Chmiel had “emerged from the riverbank” and was speaking with their investigative team.

Nashville Police were referring to the riverbank of the Cumberland River, which is where Missouri college student Riley Strain’s body was located earlier this year after being reported missing.
Media outlets have reported that Chmiel told police that she did not know how she ended up in the river.
The Metro Nashville Police Department has not confirmed any further details at this time.
