City responds to crosswalk danger concerns
PARSONS, Tenn. — A citizen in one of our local towns had some concerns regarding a crosswalk.
After the sprint we made with a local resident to get across the road, we were able to speak with him a little bit on how long this has been going on and if he feels that it’s dangerous whenever he’s crossing the street.
“Well since about 2019 I would say when that hurricane or tornado or whatever came through here. I feel like it’s been out since. Trying to cross I feel very uncomfortable,” said Jerry Evans, Parsons resident.
We called the City of Parsons and less than 10 minutes later, their public works department was out there taking a look at the cross walk to try and get the time extended.
So what do you need to do if you feel like there is a similar situation in your town? Well, just call your city hall. Many of them will be more than happy to help you out. If they can, just like they did here, they will come out and try and extend that time.
Evans later told us he was appreciative of the city’s quick response.
