2nd annual golf tournament to support Kirkland Cancer Center
CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — One of the many things that West Tennessee does incredibly well is put on wonderful fundraisers.
There’s one happening at Chickasaw Golf Course in a few weeks that proves that to be true.
We spoke with Ann-Marie Kelley with Swinging Fore Hope about what we can expect in the next few weeks.
“It’s our second annual golf tournament. It’s called Swinging Fore Hope,” Kelley said. “It’s raising money for the patient needs program for the Kirkland Cancer Center.”
A lot of times with new fundraisers, it takes a few years to sort of get off the ground and really get going — not for this one. Swinging Fore Hope hit the ground running last year with their first annual event.
“So I was actually playing golf out here, and David had heard about my story and kind of kept up with it, and I was recovering, he said ‘Hey, if you ever want to throw a golf tournament, just come out and let me know.’ Our first year we raised over $105,000. And 100% of all of the money went to patient needs at Kirkland Cancer Center. So for a great cause,” Kelley said.
If you want to be a part of this golf tournament in any way, there is some contact information that you will need.
“Contact Haley. My number is (731) 222-5128,” said Haley Cooper. “Call me, I can reach out, send you an email, send you all the info.”
And you better call quick, as there are just a few teams available. However, there are still so many different ways that you can get involved with this fundraiser.
Some of those ways simply include volunteering. They also have five different sponsors opportunities if anyone wants to be involved in that aspect.
The event is on Monday, September 16.
