Executive director announces plans for new park in rotary meeting
JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson Rotary Club meeting was held Wednesday in downtown Jackson.
Event speaker Matthew Martin is the executive director of the Madison County Parks and Recreation Department.
He shares his hope to raise awareness of the county parks department.
The department partners with nonprofits, organizations, and city parks for various events to keep an eye out for.
Plus, a new park is coming to Denmark.
“We do have a county parks department, a lot of people don’t know that even though we’ve been here for 40 years. A little bit of an identity crisis that we’re just trying to distance ourselves and create some space and let people know there are county parks and they’re a lot of times are hidden gems throughout our county,” said Martin.
