Memorial held at Pope Park for victim involved in wreck on Sunday

UPDATE (12/6/24): Woman faces several charges following fatal wreck on Windy City Road

JACKSON, Tenn. — Thursday loved ones took to the diamond to honor a life gone too soon.

Family and friends gathered at Pope Park to honor the young woman who died in a wreck on Sunday, August 4 at the intersection of McClellan and Windy City Road.

Friends say the softball field was the best place for the memorial, because she loved the sport and even played at that very park.

Many came together to share their memories of a close friend and teammate.

“What we wanted to do here is get all of the softball girls together just one time to not only honor her, but also be able to tell her stories and tell about how good of a person she was and how many lives she really did impact,” said Taylen Permenter, best friend of the victim.

Friday night at 7:30 p.m. a candlelight vigil will be held near Trinity Christian Academy to honor both victims of the car accident.
