One local organization gives back with a Back to School Bash

JACKSON, Tenn.—Giving back is one local non-profit organization’s motto, and they’ve done it successfully for the past 17 years.

UNKUTT of Jackson hosted their Back to School Bash at Centennial Park in East Jackson.

Backpacks, notebooks, pencils and crayons were just a few items offered at this event.

Washington Douglas Head Start Center also set up a booth to help children register for school.

Katrina Singleton West with legal services also had a booth to help the community with family legal services.

The president of UNKUTT, Monique Campbell said that the organization loves to be involved and help residents as much as the can.

“Our doors are open. My number is (731) 803-3480. You can find us under “UNKUTT S/C” on Facebook, TikTok or Instagram, that’s how you can reach us,” said Monique Campbell, president of UNKUTT.

Campbell said that they also feed Thanksgiving dinner to McMillan Towers and many others.
