Mothers’ Milk Bank of TN provides new milk drop depot to JMCGH

JACKSON, Tenn. — An exciting opening celebration was held Friday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

The event welcomed a new milk drop depot by the Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee.

The Mothers’ Milk Bank is a nonprofit dedicated to providing safe and pasteurized donor milk to medically fragile babies.

The lifesaving nutrition improves outcomes for preterm and critical infants with every ounce.

The new depot also does the important job of raising awareness.

“The more it gets talked about, the more the word spreads, the more donors we get, the more milk we have, and the more babies we save long term,” said Tracey McMahon, state depot director for Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee.

This new milk drop depot allows donors to donate excess breast milk here in Jackson instead of driving to Nashville.
