Logo revealed for 2025 Tennessee State Games to be hosted in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — A logo was unveiled Thursday morning for the Tennessee State Games that will be hosted in Jackson next summer.
Last December, it was announced that Jackson would be the host city for the 2025 Tennessee State Games. The State Games is an annual multi-sport event that is modeled after the Olympics, but is held solely for residents of Tennessee.
An application process was held to chose the city that would host these games in Tennessee.
“Only one city can host the games. We were selected as the one in Tennessee,” said Lindsay Dawkins, Chief of Staff for the Greater Jackson Chamber. “What that means is no other city in the State of Tennessee can host the games unless we give it up.”
B3 Creative designed this logo to represent Tennessee and Jackson in an effective way. The circle represents the Hub City, and the three lines represent each portion of Tennessee.
“When it comes to developing a logo, it’s really about ‘Is this going to be effective, is this going to serve a purpose?’ It was really important for us to think about it through that lens so that we are able to do things very well, make it legible, make it flexible so we can pair it with the name of the sport as you can see in some of the images,” said Stephanie Riley, B3 Creative Agency Founder.
The State Games are not new by any means, as they have been going on for quite a few decades. However, this will be the first one in Tennessee.
Jackson was chosen as the one city to host out of many other applicants. Madison County Mayor A.J. Massey talks about what an honor that is.
“Jackson, Tennessee beat out larger cities,” Massey said. “Knoxville, Chattanooga, Murfreesboro, cities that have a lot of development, a lot of movement, and a lot of momentum. They chose Jackson. I think that’s a testament to our team we sent to the committee to select where the Tennessee State Games are going to be.”
Mayor Massey hopes this event will continue to grow and that the support around West Tennessee will be great.
The first Friday in June, there will be an opening ceremony at the Jackson Rockabillys stadium.
