Back to Back 100s in Jackson, Rain Chances Around the Corner!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

For the second day in a row we hit 100° in Jackson; so far we have fallen short of the record of 102°. We have one more shot at hitting 100° on Thursday, but that will depend on when the clouds develop and where the stray showers pop up. Rain chances will continue on Friday but increase in coverage and in intensity this weekend as the cold front moves through on Saturday. Cooler weather will move in behind the front too! Catch the full forecast information details coming up including how the rain will impact your Labor day weekend plans right here.

THIS WEEK:
It has been a hot start to the work week, but at least the humidity has been low. We are expecting to be even hotter temperatures on Wednesday and could approach the record high on 102°. It will be a dry heat for West Tennessee standards so do not expect to see excessive heat warnings as the humidity will not make it feel any warmer than the actual temperatures this week. Tuesday was the hottest day of the year and Wednesday should be even hotter.

Skies will start out sunny but clouds will increase each day this week. The winds will start to come out of the southwest in the middle of the week and stay that way until we get going into the weekend. Cooler weather will move in towards the weekend as well but we will remain hot for the entire work week.

Rain chances are not in the forecast for the first half of the week but chances will look to return on Thursday. The chances for rain are higher on Friday and remain a decent shot for both days this weekend. We really need the rain as drought conditions have returned to West Tennessee and will get worse when we get the new update on Thursday. Some of the showers could last in Labor Day as well.

THE WEEKEND:
Cooler weather and likely some wet weather looks to be on the way for the weekend. Highs will reach around 90° and lows will hang around 70°. Rain chances look greater on Saturday than Sunday as now but there is a decent shot for each day. The winds will start to come out of the north after the late work week or early weekend cold front passes by. Showers and cooler weather will look to return for Labor Day.
