African Street Festival kicks off night one of festivities
JACKSON, Tenn. — One festival returns to kick off night one of a three day long celebration.
The 34th annual African Street Festival is back in the Hub City.
The event will continue until Sunday, September 1. Friday, organizers held a block party while shining a light on a local HBCU.
The Lane College Band and Choir performed tonight. One Lane College student shares how it feels to be recognized.
“It feels amazing, it makes me feel special and appreciated. I love my HBCU, it’s given back to me so much so I love to give back to my HBCU,” said Alyssa Moore, Miss Rutherford County Volunteer.
Day two of the festival will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
