Russell Todd Naylor
Russell Todd Naylor, affectionately known as Todd, passed away on August 30, 2024, in Jackson, Tennessee, at the age of 61. Born on June 25, 1963, in Memphis, Tennessee, Todd lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love.
Todd proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, a commitment that underscored his deep sense of duty and patriotism. After his military service, Todd continued to exemplify hard work and leadership as a supervisor at Estes Truck Lines, where he was respected by colleagues and friends alike for his steadfastness and integrity.
Todd was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Randolph Naylor and Marilyn Louise Howell Naylor; his stepmother, Sherwayne Emerson Naylor; his brother, Mike Naylor; and his sister, Janice Burton. Though these losses were profound, Todd found strength in the love and support of his surviving family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Monica Lea Franks Naylor, who stood by his side through all of life’s challenges and joys. Together, they raised three children, Corey Naylor, BJ Naylor, and Nicki Naylor Smith, who will continue to honor his legacy through their own lives. Todd also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride. His sister, Cindy, and brother, Steve Brown (Renate), also survive him, along with his stepmother, Betty Naylor (known as Granny to family) and numerous friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
A visitation to celebrate Todd’s life will be held on Wednesday evening, September 4, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. In recognition of his service to the nation, military honors will be rendered in a small ceremony at 6:00 pm.
Todd Naylor will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend—a man who lived his life with honor, dedication, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
