‘Racing So They Can Ride’ fundraiser to benefit children’s therapy program
JACKSON, Tenn. — A beloved race will soon return to raise funds for a special cause.
‘Racing So They Can Ride’ is set for September 21 at 8 a.m.
The distance options are 5K, 10K and 1 mile with all races starting at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Jackson.
The event is in memory of Caleb Lott and benefits Rein-Bow Riding Academy. The special program uses horseback riding to help individuals with varying abilities receive therapy.
“We have volunteers and we have special therapists and horseback riding instructors who are making it really fun but those kids are reaching occupational, physical and speech and emotional and sensory goals while riding that horse,” said Ellen Neely, marketing and community outreach manager.
The pre-registration deadline is September 8, however walk up registration is available the day of the race.
