U.S. Marshals arrest 16-year-old following shooting in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — U.S. Marshals and the Jackson Police Department arrested a teen charged in the attempted robbery and deadly shooting of a man in a Jackson housing complex.
On September 1, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Jackson Police Department (JPD) responded to a shooting inside an apartment on Lincoln Circle in Jackson, TN. A man was found deceased from gunshot wounds. JPD investigators identified a Jackson male, age 16, as a suspect. On September 3, a petition through Madison County Juvenile Court was issued charging the teen with first degree murder and attempted especially aggravated robbery.
The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson was requested to locate and apprehend the teen. Around 4:45 p.m., on September 3, Deputy marshals and JPD Officers took the teen into custody at a residence in the 100 block of Barham Street in Jackson. He was transported to the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center.
