Team of The Week Riverside Panthers

Team of The Week Riverside Panthers

Let’s start things off with our team of the week and it will go to the Riverside Panthers.
Last week they had a big win which was also a bounce back
win against the Lexington tigers defeating them 35 to 0.
The offense showed up in a big way scoring at a high rate
but it was the defense who stole the show not allowing a single
point. Early on in the game they forced a turnover and then from
that point they laid their stamp on the game.  Holding
Lexington to  six total yards of offense and zero first downs. Now we
didn’t expect to see this against a good Lexington team who put up
48 points in their opening game against Scotts hill. But,now that we have
Everyone is starting to take notice that this defense could be the staple
of how this team plays going forward. We caught up with head coach Johnnie
Frost and he spoke to his guys winning team of the week and the key to their success so far.

“Really cool stuff I mean what can you say you go out and work hard and you know put things together on the field and good things happen and sometimes you get these kind of honors and its awesome for our kids its always important to promote these guys as much as we can. Getting lined up correctly
and then watching your keys taking care of responsibilities and once you’ve done that initially just
have tenacity and fly to the football we try to create a culture of you know pursuit pursue the football run to the football get their were hard on our kids if you want credit for a tackle you
gotta be one of the first two guys there your not going to get credit for it if your the fourth
guy coming in leaning on the pile you know.”
To catch  the Panthers in action they go head to head with the
Peabody Golden Tide as they host them on Friday at 7:00 pm.
