New device revolutionizes car maintenance, upkeep
JACKSON, Tenn. — It’s the time of year when car care is encouraged most as students are back off to school and spending more time on the road.

With a device called FIXD you can solve all your car stress worries by keeping track of the health of your vehicle and uploading it directly to your phone.

It allows you to scan the current diagnostics of the vehicle.

You can even record the miles on the vehicle so it notifies you of your next advised oil change.

A mechanic expert gives us an essential checklist of things like carrying a tire plug kit, investing in a wheel lock, regulating fluid levels, keeping spare jumper cables, and performing routine inspections.
“The FIXD device is a small Bluetooth-enabled dongle that you plug into your obd2 sensor, which every car has from 1998 on. Right by your knee. You just plug it in, and then you can open up the application on your phone and it will Bluetooth to your phone. So, basically it you’re going to get all of your car’s information from your control computer,” said Jeff Biafore, FIXD car expert.
The FIXD app is free but the device does have a charge depending on the package option that is selected. Additional features range from car value, maintenance, or instant history of the vehicle.
