4-H members compete for top grilling honors
JACKSON, Tenn.—4-H members participate in a friendly competition to test their grilling skills.
The western region 4-H Grill Master Challenge took place today. The event began shortly after ten this morning at Fred Young Jr. Park in Jackson.
The members from all across counties in West TN were divided into age groups and competed to cook a variety of meats.
Participants tried their hand at preparing chicken, steak, pork, and lamb. The grillers also used their own unique marinades and seasonings blends.
Contestants presented their grilled creations to a lineup of judges from U.T. as well as some familiar special guest judges.
“And the youth enjoy working with each other and also being able to step outside their comfort zone to try something new and meet people from other counties,” said Brigitte Passman, 4-H Youth Development Agent.
Awards were given to the top grill masters.
