Hub City residents gather for presidential debate watch party in downtown Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Madison County Republican Party sponsored and held a watch party this evening at the Idea Factory in downtown Jackson.
Attendees watched as both candidates sparred on the key issues concerning voters.
Organizers of the event tell us part of the mission in America is to foster a sense of community and to engage citizens in civics.
“It is so important that people wake up and be engaged. Not just on the federal level not just on the presidential years. I’m talking about county commissioner races, for city council races, for your local community,” said Trey Cleek, grassroots engagement director.
We were not informed of any watch party by the local Democratic Party, however the state democratic party leaders did have a debate watch party in Nashville Tuesday evening.
