“Today is just a remembrance of all the men and women went into that burning building that day, not just first responders but ordinary citizens. We just don’t want to forget them,” said Dyer Mayor, Chris Younger.

Patriot Day will last all day Saturday with a full line-up ranging from a car show, vendors, a parade starting at 6 p.m, fireworks and a band.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Jackson Police Department and other law enforcement agencies are participating in the parade in downtown Dyer.

“It’s gone on a few years and we decided this year we’re going to go big,” said Dyer City Alderman, Mike Needham.

The Dyer Fire Department plays a pivotal role in sponsoring these events to bring a more positive reflection to the community.
They remind citizens of the significance of this occasion and why the community is better together.
