Jackson Financial Empowerment Center to host free credit workshop

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Greater Jackson Financial Empowerment Center is hosting a financial empowerment workshop on credit improvement.

The workshop is set for September 16, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Held at the new TCAT in Stanton, the event is free for all community members.

There’ll be pizza to eat and a drawing for a $100 Amazon card.

The event even kicks off with a tour of the TCAT facility. The workshop is free for any and all community members.

“We’re gonna spend a significant amount of time that night talking about ‘How do you improve your credit?,’ right, ‘How do you understand what a credit report is?,’ ‘How do you understand your credit score?,’ ‘What are things you can do to grow that and then protect and maintain that over time?,'” said Jordan Howerton, regional director for the Greater Jackson Financial Empowerment Center.

This workshop is helpful for those who know credit is important but want to learn more about how it works and what they can do to improve their score.
