Francine Not Done Yet, Additional Rain Coming All Weekend
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
As what’s left of Francine drops what rain is left in the tank, Flood Watches still remain in effect for McNairy and Hardin Counties until Sunday Morning at 7. An extra 1-2 inches could come from Francine this weekend. Fortunately, Francine will not be around for much longer in West Tennessee as a cold front from the west will cause the remnant low to dissipate. We have the latest forecast details right here.
Sunday:
Rain from Francine will be lighter on Sunday as the remnant low will be weakening quickly through Saturday. NWS Memphis is expecting around one-tenth of an inch here in Jackson, with places seeing thunderstorms getting more than that. Winds will be light and out of the east. Temperatures will not fluctuate much, as cloud cover and rain will not allow for highs to make it to the 80s. Most of West Tennessee will be in the upper-70s for Sunday.
Monday:
The last vestiges of Francine will be done in the hours near sunrise, with the latest showers lingering until 7:00 AM in the Memphis area. Clouds will remain throughout the day and skies will clear into the overnight hours. After All is said and done, West Tennessee will have picked up enough rain to put us above average for the year so far.
Tuesday Onward:
Sunny skies and highs in the mid-80s dominate much of the long range forecast as it appears dry season will be returning to West Tennessee. Tropical Storm Gordon will not affect us here as it looks to be a storm that churns over the open waters for its entire lifestyle. Also a disturbance along the coast of the Carolinas could possibly develop. It would also have little to no impact here in West Tennessee.
Curl up with your favorite book or the TV this weekend since the rain is so prevalent! Clear skies are on the way soon.
