Hall to deliver Union’s Constitution Day lectures

JACKSON, Tenn. — Mark David Hall, professor in the Robertson School of Government at Regent University, will speak at Union University’s annual Constitution Day lectures Sept. 17 in the Carl Grant Events Center.

Hall is a scholar of early America and has argued for the importance of Christianity in America’s flourishing. He has written, edited or co-edited a dozen books, including “Who’s Afraid of Christian Nationalism: Why Christian Nationalism is Not an Existential Threat to American or the Church,” “Proclaim Liberty Through All the Land: How Christianity Has Advanced Freedom and Equality for All Americans” and “Did America Have a Christian Founding?” among other titles.

He will speak at 2 p.m. on “Why Tolerate Religion? The Rise and Fall of Religious Liberty in America” and at 7 p.m. on “Tilting at Windmills: The ‘Threat’ of Christian Nationalism.”

The lectures are free and open to the public.
