Filmmaker debuts latest release in the Hub City

JACKSON, Tenn.—Residents of West Tennessee gathered for the premiere of a movie.

Jaron Lockridge has created films through his company, “Misguided Perceptions Media Group” since 2016.

The filmmaker and producer was excited to share with us his new movie, “Cubic Zirconia”

The film, made in West Tennessee, also includes local talent from the area.

“A lot of indie movies don’t make it to this point, so this is a celebration with the cast and crew to be able to show everybody what they’ve worked so hard on for so many days. This is the best day that I look forward to whenever  I make a movie,” said Jaron Lockridge, Creator/Producer.

The movie is a crime thriller filled with twists and turns.

“This will be a movie that you won’t see coming, you think one thing and then you find out another at the end. So it’s a good old fashion crime mystery. A ‘who-dunit’ style, little more on the thriller end, but this is a movie that I believe a lot of  people will leave impressed by,” Lockridge said.

The time drew close for the movie to premiere as participants gathered in the Ned.

Lockridge took the time to thank the public for coming, but not without a round of applause.

This is his 11th film and he does not plan on stopping any time soon.

“It’ll probably go through a very short festival run and then eventually be on streaming platforms in early 2025. You’re welcome to come to my website, misguidedperceptions.com and stay up to date on news with it, but we’re expecting an early 2025 release,” Lockridge said.

Lockridge also encourages local talent to fill out an application on his website for an opportunity to audition for one of his upcoming movies.

There was a question and answer panel held immediately after the film.
