Area Relief Ministry’s Salt and Light banquet approaches
JACKSON, Tenn. — Area Relief Ministry’s Salt and Light banquet is almost here.
The fundraiser will be held Sunday, September 22nd at 5 in the evening at the Carl Perkins civic center.
This year the Jackson symphony jazz ensemble will be performing.
The banquet helps Area Relief Ministry, also known as ARM, provide help to those who find themselves in a state of homelessness.
They have a day center year round and also a winter night shelter where they partner with churches to provide an alternative to being out on the streets in harsh weather.
However, ARM also have resources to help prevent homelessness.
“Assist them with everything from medical needs, if you have some type of dental emergency or if you are in that what I would call pre-crisis state where you might need help with your utilities or something like that, if we can prevent you from becoming unhoused in the first place, we want to help with that,” shared Faith Moore. Moore is the director of development and marketing at Area Relief Ministries.
Tickets are still available to this year’s Salt and Light banquet.
Tickets are $125 per person or you can pay $25 for balcony tickets to enjoy the music.
