Leaders Education Foundation to award classroom grants

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Leaders Education Foundation is looking to help out educators and students with grants.

Many videos have been submitted by educators around West Tennessee to attempt to receive one of the leads grants from the Leaders Education Foundation. Anywhere from elementary schools, all the way to colleges.

Educators are trying to win one of these classroom grants.

“Yeah so classroom grants are for teachers, for initiatives in their classrooms. So if they want to purchase materials for a classroom project, maybe it’s flexible seating, or a host of different things. Teachers can apply for a classroom grant where the funds can directly impact their students in the classroom,” said Shea Brown, director of community impact.

This, of course, is not the first time that the Leaders Education Foundation has awarded these grants. This has been going on for multiple years and it keeps on growing.

“So Leaders Education Foundation has been doing it since 2019. So there’s been numerous applications. I think this is actually our biggest year,” said Brown.

So how can you get involved? Well, you actually get to help decide who gets the grants. The videos have been posted on Facebook. You can like and share the videos which counts for your vote. You can go through and watch each video and choose which ones you want to help win.

“It gets the communities, the schools, the teacher, students, parents, everybody involved to vote for their teacher and their classroom to win one of the grants. There’s only 25 grants available. 25 $1,000 grants,” said Brown.

25 grants available, but there are more than 25 incredible videos to watch. So take some time to support these schools and help some of them be able to get what they need.

There are also teacher appreciation grants and professional development grants. To see the submitted videos or cast your vote, click here.
