Westover Elementary addresses threat made by student
HURON, Tenn. — Administration addressed a potential threat by a student at a local school Tuesday morning.
Several WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Tipsters shared an email received by parents and guardians of Westover Elementary School students.
The email, which appears to be sent by Westover’s Principal Renee Maynard, states the situation is “resolved” and there is no longer any threat to the safety of students or staff.
However, it’s unclear if anyone was taken into custody as a result or if there are any charges pending. It’s also unclear what type of threat was received.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We want to inform you about an incident that occurred today at Westover and to assure you that the safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority.
This morning, we became aware of a potential threat made by a student in our school. We immediately took the necessary steps to address the situation, including utilizing the expertise of our SRO and following our established safety protocols. The situation has been fully resolved, and we can confirm that there is no longer any threat to the safety of our students or staff.
We understand that incidents like this can be concerning, and we want to reassure you that we take every precaution to ensure a safe learning environment. As always, our school safety team, in coordination with law enforcement, continues to monitor the situation closely.
