Green Acres Farm to kick off fall with opening weekend festivities
MILAN, Tenn. — With the first official day of fall approaching, a favorite fall attraction will open their doors this weekend to West Tennessee families.
“It’s opening weekend at Green Acres Farm, we’re excited–hoping for a great season. It’s a lot of games and activities in Pumpkinville for all ages and we’re just hoping for a great season,” said Walker Parkins, Green Acres farmer.
On Saturday, September 21, mark your calendars for the opening day of Green Acres in Milan. The pumpkins are ready to harvest and the fun is ready to begin.
“We plan on having Pumpkinville open until about the first weekend until November and also the pumpkins for sale, and then after that will be the end of it,” said Parkins.
Pumpkinville is full of games for all ages to enjoy. Admission is $12 while children 2 and under get in free.
“We have a 30ft slide over here, we have a big corn-box that the kids love, duck races, pumpkin bowling, we have something called ‘Gooney Golf.’ There’s many more activities and the huge corn maze as well,” said Parkins.
Another fan favorite attraction will return which is the corn maze. This year’s design spells out “Green Acres Farm 2024.”
“It’s bigger this year, it’s about 8 acres. So, it’s two acres bigger than last year we try to switch things everything up every year and make it a little different for the customers,” said Parkins.
To end your fun filled day, don’t forget to grab a pumpkin that comes in all sizes and colors.
“That’s one of the main things people do here ,that’s all free to go out there and choose a pumpkin there all priced specifically to size,” said Parkins.
Under their pavilion on weekends there will be food vendors for everyone to enjoy. For those who may want to beat the large crowds the week days will be perfect time to visit
