Jackson Chamber holds community forum to discuss Alzheimer’s disease
JACKSON, Tenn. — A community discussion was held Thursday at the Greater Jackson Chamber to give support, services, and education to families affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
This event opened up the floor for discussions with individuals who are care-takers for their loved ones.
Our very own Brad Douglass, a member of the Alzheimer’s Association for the state, gave a presentation to help families understand the complexities of Alzheimer’s disease and provide more information and resources available in Madison County.
Program Director Katrina Kimble also highlights the newly launched Empowered Caregiver Educational Program and also encourages the importance of having a care plan and a support team.
“You need to have steps in place. So often we focus on the medical aspect but you want to look at a holistic approach of how can I support my loved one in all areas of their life,” said Kimble.
