We start things off in Trojan territory as Dyersburg
football has been voted team of the week.
This past Friday they handed Bolivar Central
their first loss of the season with a final of
36 to 0. The Trojans reached the end zone a number
of times and actually despite the rainy conditions
was able to run their offense at a high level like normal
with a mix of running and passing. While the defense having
a shutout refused to allow Bolivar to get anything going
on offense. One of the bigger plays for the defense was
them forcing a fumble and Aj Higgins having a scoop and score.
This win puts their record at 2-2. So far in the first half of the
season it’s been a few ups and downs but good news is that they just
won their first district game of the year which goes a long way
down the stretch of the season. We caught up with head coach
Bart Stowe and he spoke to them winning team of the week,
the key to their performance, and what it means for his defense to
play so well.

“It was very exciting, you know, very proud of it, very proud of our fans, our community, our school and our
team for playing so well last Friday and getting voted team of the week. Well its all three phases of the game for us you know special teams offense and defense really stepped up and played really well versus an undefeated bolivar team. Aww, absolutely anytime you pitch a shutout you know
you’re super excited about that. Our defensive staff did an excellent job getting the team ready to play and the guys took it to the field and really showed that they listened to their coaches and worked hard.”

They have a chance to win 2 games in the district

7:00 pm.
