AMP Concert Series comes to a close with performance from LOLO
JACKSON, Tenn. — One organization takes the time to highlight a new Hub City investment.
Friday night, LOLO performed to close out the AMP Concert Series. This was the last performance of the 2024 season.
As a seasoned performer, LOLO says she enjoys these opportunities.
“It’s an opportunity because its free for anyone in our community to come and see what they have to offer. I’m happy to be closing it out with good vibes, it’s going to be a dance party tonight. I’m looking forward to it,” LOLO said.
Along with her performance, one community member shared good news.
“Jackson is getting a Ronald McDonald House Charity and the Lewis Family is mainly responsible for that. They lost a son and spent a lot of time in the Memphis RMHC, but we are thrilled to have one coming here,” said Susannah White president of the Jackson Alumni Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
Since 1979, ADPI and Ronald McDonald House Charities have worked together. White set up a table for attendees to donate items to the home.
“We also like for the children and the adults to have something to make them feel comfortable when they are in the hospital waiting in the hall for a loved one. It gets cold in those hospitals, so a blanket or a little lovey. We just bring lions because they represent courage and strength and these children and families are so strong,” White said.
White is still accepting non perishable items and the tops of cans to be recycled and those funds will help residents of the home.
“Books that are gently used or new, age appropriate and nice books, and even something that’s just a journal,” White said.
Donation drop offs can be made at First Presbyterian Church.
LOLO also shared that she was excited to close out the season with a rendition of “Life is a Highway” for her son.
