Benton County Dispatch Report: September 13-19
BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. — The following are full dispatch reports from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, September 13-19.
Friday, September 13
HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
- Deputy responded to the report of a motorist assist. The complainant reported that their truck had broken down in the area and that a female subject who resided in the area was giving the complaint problems while the complainant waited for their tow. Deputy advised that both the vehicle and the complainant were GOA.
- Deputy responded to the area of Hatley Rd for a noise complaint. The complainant reported that individuals were on their property playing loud music and shooting guns. Deputy checked the property and surrounding area but made no contact with anyone.
CAMDEN AREA
- Deputy responded to the report of a road hazard. It was reported that a vehicle was broken down in the Camden Bottoms area without any lights on and in the roadway. Deputy made contact with the vehicle and its driver. Deputy advised that they had run out of gas and that a friend helped them get the vehicle towed out of the roadway.
- Deputy responded to the report of animals in the roadway at Little Jim Dr/Bethel Church RD intersection. Deputy advised that they were able to get the horses put back.
- Deputies responded to the report of a 9-1-1 hang up. Callback was attempted and contact was made with the complainant who advised that a male subject had taken her keys and walked off after locking the vehicle with animals still inside of it. Deputy made contact with the female party and the vehicle. Deputy advised that the vehicle was in the roadway Camden PD assisted and stayed with the female while the deputy looked for the male subject. A deputy made contact with the male who advised that he did not have the keys. Deputy advised that the female found the keys in the driveway and was now leaving.
- Deputy and EMS responded to Hwy 70 E for the report of an overdose. The complainant reported that a male neighbor was overdosing. Deputy advised that EMS checked out the patient at the scene and that the patient refused transport.
- Deputies and EMS responded to the report of a fall. The complainant reported a male patient had fallen. They were able to get him back up but the patient was reported to be unresponsive. The complainant performed CPR until first responders could take over.
- Deputy responded to the report of shots heard in the area of Jacqueline Circle. The complainant reported hearing several gunshots in the area. Deputy checked the area and advised that no contact was made with anyone in the area nor any gunshots heard while in the area. Deputy advised that they may have heard sounds coming from Magpro.
- Deputy responded to the report of suspicious activity on Davis RD. The complainant reported that someone was on their deceased father’s property. Deputy made contact with the persons on the property and advised that everything was okay. Deputy advised that the subjects on the property were family.
- Deputy responded to the 12000 block of Highway 69A for suspicious activity. The complainant reported that someone was shining a flashlight in the back window of their residence. Deputy checked the property and nearby area but did not make any contact with any persons with a light.
- Deputies responded to the report of a suspicious person. Deputy reported that a male subject was on foot in the area in all black clothing and walking on the wrong side of the road. Deputy made contact with the male subject and advised that he was possibly a runaway juvenile. Deputy transported the juvenile to the office. Juvenile was released into his father’s custody.
- Deputy performed a traffic stop at Hwy 641 S/W Main St. Deputy requested an additional unit to the scene. Deputy advised that one of the occupants was being combative. Additional deputies and Camden PD officers assisted. Zoey N Autry arrested for resisting stop/Arrest, possession of Sch II Meth/sch II Fentanyl/sch VI Marijuana/drug paraphernalia and for failure to appear on a Capias warrant. Bethaney C Bailey arrested on charges for Simple Possession Sch II Meth, driving no insurance, and expired registration.
- Deputies, EMS and THP responded to the report of an accident-injuries in the 1700 block of Eva Rd. The complainant, local VFD personnel, reported that a vehicle was wrecked off the roadway, with airbags deployed and the engine still running. Deputy advised that EMS transported the patient. THP took the accident report. THP arrested Kimberly D Vernon for DUI 1st and violation of implied consent law.
- Deputies assisted Camden PD with a report of traumatic injury. The complainant advised that they had accidentally shot themself in the leg. Deputy applied a tourniquet to the leg. EMS was enroute from Big Sandy. LE made the decision to do the transport. Deputy transported the patient to the hospital.

BIG SANDY AREA
- Deputy advised that they were out at an address serving an arrest warrant. THP was in the area and assisted. Deputy advised that contact was made with the subject, Julie Rogers. Julie A. Rogers arrested on a Juvenile Court Mittimus for Failure to Pay Child Support.
- Deputy responded to Oak Street for the report of an unwanted subject. The complainant reported that a female subject, Katie Tolley, was tearing up the property and that days prior to this she had tried to set a shed. Katie Tolley was arrested on active warrant(s) out of Henry County and released into the custody of HCSO.
ARRESTS
- 7 arrests made; 5 as previously mentioned, Edward M Birdwell self-reported for a Mittimus and Jacob L Cruse arrested for forgery, criminal conspiracy, and criminal attempt.
Saturday, September 14
HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
- Deputy and THP responded to the report of an accident on I-40 WB near MM 133. Deputy assisted with traffic control due to there being several disabled vehicles in that area. Accident report taken by THP.
CAMDEN AREA
- Deputies responded to the report of shots heard in the area of Old Hwy 69 and Harris St. Deputies checked the area but made no contact with anyone shooting guns nor heard any additional shots while in the area.
- Deputy responded to the report of suspicious activity on Kee Ln. The complainant advised that a male subject was running up to different vehicles and screaming at people. Deputy checked the area and advised that no contact was made with anyone in the area acting suspiciously.
- Deputies assisted Camden PD with a report of a gunshot. The complainant reported that their husband had accidentally shot himself in the leg. Deputy applied a tourniquet to the leg. EMS transported the patient.

BIG SANDY AREA
- Deputy, THP, and EMS responded to the report of a single-vehicle accident with injuries in the 10000 block of Hwy 69A. Deputy advised that EMS transported the patient. Accident report taken by THP.
- Deputies responded to the report of breaking & entering-not in progress in the 8000 block of Hwy 69A. The complainant reported that a subject was inside their residence when they came home. The complainant advised that the subject ran, leaving out of the basement. Deputy advised that there were signs of forced entry. Deputies checked the area but made no contact with any subject matching the given description.
- Deputy responded to the request for a welfare check in the 10000 block of Hwy 69A. The complainant reported that three male juveniles were walking toward Big Sandy in the northbound lane. The complainant reported that the juveniles had waved the complainant down for a ride to a relative’s residence. Deputy made contact with the juveniles and transported them.
- Deputy responded to the 10000 block of Hwy 69A. Deputy advised that they were waved down by a resident in the area. Deputy advised that the complainant reported that a bullet hole was discovered on the side of their house. Deputy checked the residence to ensure the bullet did not make it all the way through. Report taken.

Sunday, September 15
HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
- Deputy responded to the report of theft on Hatley Rd. The complainant reported packages were taken from their property. Report taken.
CAMDEN AREA
- Deputy responded to the report of an unwanted subject on Cuff Rd. The complainant reported that a vehicle, occupied with one male, was on their property. Deputy made contact with the subject and their vehicle. Deputy requested a tow and transported the male subject to a truckstop.
- Deputy responded to the report of an unwanted subject on Rockport Rd. The complainant reported that two subjects, male and female, were on the property that weren’t supposed to be there. Deputy advised that contact was made and that the male subject was trespassed from the property. Deputy advised that the complainant requested special patrols of the property.
- Deputy advised that animals, two puppies, were in the roadway on Natchez Trace Rd. Deputy made contact with the owners at a nearby residence and returned the puppies.

BIG SANDY AREA
- Deputies responded to the report of an unwanted subject in the 10000 block of Hwy 69A. The complainant reported that the subject left prior to LE making it on-scene, Deputies checked the area and a last known residence for the male subject but no contact was made.
ARRESTS
- 1 arrest made; Thomas Wilson self-reported for Mittimus.
Monday, September 16
Holladay/ Sugar Tree Area–
- Deputies responded to a call about small children in the roadway with no adults around them that had diapers on with no shoes. Caller put children in the vehicle while waiting for deputies to come. Deputies made scene and found the parents of the children. Caller released the children to the parents, and the deputies will be talking to the parents about this incident.
- Deputies responded to a welfare check on a juvenile. Caller advised the juvenile was not at school for the past 2 days and they were worried. The caller also advised they received a call from the juvenile and somebody was screaming and then they hung up the phone. Deputies arrived at the residence and cleared the residence. nobody was home at this time. They ended up making contact with the juvenile and everything was ok.
- Deputy responded to a call about an unwanted subject. Caller advised that there was a male in her yard drunk and she wanted him removed. Deputy arrived on scene and found male walking down the roadway. Male was trespassed from the residence.
Camden Area–
- Deputy responded to a call about a vehicle driving through the fence at the dump. Deputy advised they were going to look at the camera footage and investigate this.
- Deputy went out at a residence with DCS doing an investigation.
- Deputies were out serving a warrant and found 1 subject with a warrant and the other one being charged. Both were arrested and taken to the Benton County Jail.
- Deputies responded to a neighbor problem. The caller advised that his neighbor was yelling in his yard. dEputies arrived on scene and separated the parties, advising the neighbor if they had to come back out there he would be arrested.
Eva Area–
- Nothing to report for this area.
Big Sandy Area–
- Deputy responded to a call about a male laying in the ditch. Deputy made scene and advised the male he needed to leave this area as they were going to cut the grass there with the tractors. Deputy gave male subject a ride out of the area.
- Deputies responded to a stolen vehicle/property call. Caller advised that her vehicle was stolen and had her property inside of it. Deputies secured the area looking for it. They made contact with the vehicle and found the person sharing this vehicle with the caller. Deputies investigated this and advised that this would be a civil issue.
- Deputy responded to a 911 open line. Deputy arrived on scene and advised everything was ok. Caller just hit the side button and her phone called 911. They did not need any emergency services.

- 1 male failure to appear, 1 male held for court. 1 male for resisting stop arrest, 1 amle for mittimus, 1 female for accessory after the fact
Tuesday, September 17
HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
- Deputies responded to the report of suspicious activity on Sugar Maple Dr. The complainant reported that they needed officers and an ambulance for a medical emergency and that people were in harm. Deputies made contact with the complainant. Deputy arrested the complainant, David Joseph Fishler for abuse of 9-1-1.
- Deputy responded to the request for a welfare check at Love’s Truck Stop. The complainant reported that a female subject had been there off and on since the weekend. Deputy made contact with the female and advised that a community advocate would transport the female back to her home.
- Deputy responded to the report of accident-no injuries, vehicle versus deer.
CAMDEN AREA
- Deputy, THP, and EMS responded to the report of an accident-injuries in the 2000 block of Eva Road. Report taken by THP.
- Deputy responded to the 3800 block of Birdsong Road for the report of property damage. The complainant reported that someone had hit a mailbox. Report taken.
- Deputies responded to the report of a disturbance. Deputies made contact with a female resident who advised that there had been a disturbance, mostly verbal but it had turned physical, prior to LEOs arrival and that the female aggressor was no longer on the property. Deputy advised that the female aggressor was to be trespassed from the property when/if she returns.
- Deputy performed a traffic stop. Deputy arrested Patricia Lynn Keathley on possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, introduction into penal facility, and fabricating/tampering with evidence

- Deputy arrested Georgetta May1 Nelson on Aggravated Assault warrant.
ARRESTS
- 4 arrests made; 3 as previously mentioned and Jared Tyler Baugus self-reported for a Mittimus.
Wednesday, September 18
HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
- Deputies responded to the report of a commercial burglary alarm. Deputy checked the property and advised that a door was open to the business. Deputy cleared the building and advised that everything was okay. Deputy advised that the keyholder was enroute to secure the building.
- Deputy assisted THP with accident-no injuries on I-40 EB MM 126.2, vehicle versus semi. Deputy advised that one-lane closure while wrecker towed semi. THP took the report.
CAMDEN AREA
- Deputy responded to the report of a juvenile problem/unruly. The complainant reported that the juvenile was refusing to get on the school bus. Deputy transported the juvenile to school.
- Deputies assisted DCS with a custody dispute. DCS advised that they were supposed to take an infant into state’s custody. Deputy and DCS did not make any contact with the child and the mother at the residence. Deputy advised to have the mother’s cell phone pinged. The mother’s location was pinging in the Carroll County area. Carroll county was updated. Deputy advised that DCS reported that they made contact with the mother and now have the infant in their custody.
- Deputy responded to the report of threats. The complainant reported statements were made regarding threats to their life. Deputy made contact with the complainant and advised them of their options.
- Deputy responded to the area of Divider & Natchez Trace Rd for the report of suspicious activity. The complainant reported that they had been followed from work and that the vehicle was driving on the road behind their residence. Deputy checked the area but made no contact with the suspicious vehicle.
- Deputy responded to the report of suspicious activity on Summers Rd. The complainant reported that someone was squatting at an abandoned property. Deputy made contact with the male subject. Deputy advised that everything was okay. Deputy advised that the male subject had permission from the property owner.
- Deputies responded to the report of a domestic disturbance-in progress . Deputies made contact with both parties and advised that it was a verbal disturbance. Deputy advised that there would be a party separation and that the female party was leaving.
- Deputies responded to the report of a disturbance on Hwy 70 W. Deputy advised that the female aggressor had calmed down prior to LE arrival. Deputy advised that everything was okay and that the female was going to stay separated from the rest of the residents in the home.
- Deputy advised that contact was made with a female subject with an active warrant. Kayla Anne Famer arrested on possession of drug paraphernalia warrant.

BIG SANDY AREA
- Deputy responded to Hill Top Circle for the report of a stolen vehicle. The complainant reported that their pickup truck was stolen. Deputy advised to have the vehicle entered as stolen.
- Deputy responded to the report of a reckless driver on Shore Dr. Deputy checked the area and made contact with the driver on S Shore Dr. Deputy spoke to the driver and advised him on driving safely in the area.

Thursday, September 19
HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
- Deputies, THP, EMS, AirEvac, Rescue Squad, South 40 FD responded to the report of an accident-injuries. The complainant reported that a vehicle went off the road, flipped multiple times and had landed in the median. AirEvac transported the patient. THP took the report.
- Deputies responded to Holladay Marathon for the report of a robbery-not in progress. The complainant reported that a black male subject with a knife had robbed the store and left going toward Camden in a white Nissan Altima. Deputies checked the area and nearby businesses but made no contact with the vehicle. Deputy advised that Decatur County will be handling the case.
CAMDEN AREA
- Deputy responded to the report for a breaking & entering-not in progress. The complainant reported that their shop was broken into and property was missing. Deputy took the report.
- Deputy responded to the request for assistance from Dickson County. Dickson county reported they had an active warrant for a female that resided in our county. Deputy made contact with the female at a residence. Deputy arrested Susan L Noles on a harassment warrant and released into Dickson County custody.
- Deputy responded to the report of a road hazard. The complainant reported that a vehicle was in the roadway. Deputy made contact with the motorist. Deputy transported the driver to the gas station. Deputy advised that the wrecker towed the vehicle to the gas station.
- Deputy performed a vehicle stop. Deputy arrested Cheyanne L Carstarphen for simple possession sch II methadone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Deputy responded to the report of theft. The complainant reported that a male subject that has been trespassed from the property has been coming back and taking her things. Deputy took the report.
- Deputies responded to the report of a shooting. Deputies arrived on scene and advised that everything was okay at the residence. Deputy advised that this was a false call. Deputy advised there will be an investigation into the false report.
- Deputies responded to the report of suspicious activity. The complainant reported that someone was on his property going through his vehicle. Deputies checked the area but made no contact. Deputy took a report.

BIG SANDY AREA
- Big Sandy PD responded to the report of trespassing-in progress. The complainant reported that neighbors were parking vehicles on the complainant’s property and had removed their “No Trespassing” signs. Officer made contact and advised them not to park on the complainant’s property.
