Mostly Dry & Nice Weekend, Front Coming Early Next Week
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

After several rainy days over the weekend in West Tennessee, the sunny and mostly dry days are now here and will be sticking around until Monday next week. Highs will make it into the low 90s as we head into the weekend. There is a cold front on the way early next week that will bring some shower activity and a cool down, but it will not be here until early next week. Catch the latest forecast including a detailed look into your upcoming weekend right here.
We are over 3″ above on the year and have already seen 7″ of rain at the airport in Jackson for the month of September. There is a shot we make it back up to 90° later this week. Catch the full forecast details coming up here.

In Jackson at the airport we have seen 42.448″ of rain since the beginning of the year, that puts up 3″ over for the year. The heavy rain we saw will greatly improve the drought monitor when it comes out on Thursday. The rain will not eliminate the drought for all of us but we are expecting some major improvements from last week.

THIS WEEK:
After a very wet end to last week and a few sprinkles Monday, we are not expecting anymore rain for the remainder of the work week and likely not this weekend either. There could be a few showers in the counties near the Mississippi River. After a mostly sunny work week, the clouds may try to return at times this weekend as the winds will finally start to return to the southwest over the weekend too. Most of the week the winds came out of the north keeping the humidity down and limited cloud development.

Temperatures this week will be close to normal for the entire week. Highs will be warming up to the upper 80s or low 90s by the end of week and lasting into the weekend. Morning lows will be climbing to the mid to upper 60s later this weekend and lasting into the weekend.

THE WEEKEND:
We are expecting mostly sunny skies on Saturday and more clouds to build in late in the day on Sunday. The winds will come out of the east on Saturday before making a turn to the southeast on Sunday. Highs will reach the upper 80s both day and morning lows will hang around the mid 60s. As of now, we are not expecting any rain this weekend. A cold will get closer but likely will not impact our weather until early the following week.

NEXT WEEK:
Some rain rain are likely early next week as the cold front passes and a few non severe storms may try to develop as well. The shower chances appear to be the highest Tuesday morning but could linger during the middle of the week. Temperatures will drop a bit behind the front and expect highs near 80° and lows near 60° into next week. There is a chance a potential tropical system develops in the gulf next week and it could take a path to bring heavy rain again back to West Tennessee late in the week or over the following weekend.
