Mostly Dry Weekend, Storms Possible Monday Night

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update

We’ll be welcoming in the new season with a bang, possibly dealing with another tropical cyclone, and a nice mid-week cooldown. We have the latest details for your upcoming week all right here.

Sunday:

Temperatures will remain in the low 90s through Sunday afternoon. Skies will be mostly clear and the overnight low will be in the low 70s. The Fall Equinox is also Sunday. Autumn will officially begin in West Tennessee at 7:43 A.M.

Monday:

Throughout the day Monday, clouds will begin to thicken as we get into the overnight hours.  As of now, parts of the region are under a Marginal Risk for severe weather. The setup is largely dependent on how much daytime heating the surface receives. Instability is limited and shear is sufficient. We will be keeping an eye on Monday night for the time being and will update when updates become available to us.

Monday Severe

Tuesday-Friday:

A welcome cooldown will be in store for the region after Monday night’s storms. Highs for the remainder of the week will be in the upper 70s. Skies will once again begin to become overcast ahead of what could be our next tropical system. As of now, the NHC has an area in the Gulf of Mexico that has a 60% chance of development into a tropical depression. It would make landfall between Houston, TX and Destin, FL sometime in the second half of the week.
