Native American Powwow event returns to Discovery Park of America

UNION CITY, Tenn.—One event aimed to celebrate culture through dance, song, and food.

The 2nd annual Educational Pow-Wow was held today at Discovery Park of America for community members to come together to learn about the history and culture of Native Americans.

There were 35 Native American tribes represented by more than 50 different individuals.

The event included dancing, storytelling and competing in full dress.

“We here at Discovery Park of America have a fairly large Native American gallery where we have artifacts and art and tell the story of Native Americans in this entire region and so this is just and extension of that. A way for us to so something that’s interactive and fun and entertaining,” said CEO, Discovery Park of America.

There were also a variety of vendors with handmade items from all over the U.S.
