Local woman seeks help in finding her missing son

UPDATE (9/24/24): Various sources confirm Beard has been located safe.

JACKSON, Tenn. — In a cry for help, one mother is asking the community to be on the lookout for her son, who she hasn’t seen in nearly two months.

Teresa Beard is a mother who has been seeking answers, asking herself: ‘Where could her son be?’

It’s been nearly two months since she’s seen or heard from him but she says she’s trusting in God to hear her prayers and bring him home safe. Erik Beard is 32-years old and approximately 5’9 and 170lbs.

He was last seen in August in the Jackson area.

“Everybody he went around he was nice. I mean, they loved to see him coming because they loved his energy and you know he was an all-around good person,” said Teresa.

Teresa says he has a medical condition that may prevent him from returning home without assistance. Teresa also says, due to his medical condition, he may be confused if approached but would not be combative.

Erik could be at a public place using wifi.

“If anybody has seen him walking or seen him sitting anywhere or anything, just let me know, that’s all I want,” said Teresa.

Teresa says he does have a driver’s license but does not drive or have a vehicle.

“I just pray. I try not to think on the bad stuff. I believe all things are possible with God. I believe God will take care of everything,” said Teresa.

Hopefully, pictures will help if anyone has seen Erik. Here are some tips that might help you remember someone’s face: focus on their eyes and other facial features like cheekbones and chin.

You can also take note of any visible birthmarks, tattoos or scars. Erik’s mother says he does have a tattoo that says ‘Teresa’ on his neck.

If you have any information regarding Erik’s whereabouts, contact the Jackson Police Department at 731-425-8400.
