Hub City Film Festival returns for 2nd year, tickets now available
JACKSON, Tenn. — An official film screening celebrating talents across the region has begun.
The Hub City Film Festival 2024 is here! With over 50 films for you to enjoy, this two day screening is all about celebrating talent across the region.
“Yeah you can go to Hollywood, you can go to New York and you can go to all of these things, but I think the one big thing about Jackson and West Tennessee is that there are stories here,” said Shelby Tyre, director for the Hub City Film Festival.
This is a ticketed event.
“Ticket prices are all on our website or our Instagram or any social media that we have. There will also be some for sale there at the event. If you want to just come to the event, it’s 10 dollars but if you have an all access pass, it’s included in that as well,” said Tyre.
Screening will go on until tomorrow. You can catch it at theCO or at Catbird Studio.
theCO will have screening time from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. while Catbird’s time will be from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
This year’s lineup included several standout films such as ‘Soul of the City: Hub City Mass’ and ‘Frog-Man V.’
“Frog-Man V and other great films stand out because of the work and effort that members of the community put into it. We have pillars of the community like Rachel Camp, who got a project off the ground and is really representing a lot for the community,” said Jessica Galvcan-Guzman, coordinator for the Hub City Film Festival.
The festival will finish out on September 28 with a red carpet and awards ceremony.
“Saturday, we have Hub City Mass performing. I think they’re doing two songs at the ceremony. And then we have Makayla Collins, who also has a music video in this festival this year, so they will both be performing and then of course all of the people who can be there that’s winning awards will be there as well,” said Jessica.
Sponsors include Adelsberger Marketing, Community Foundation of West Tennessee, theCO and The Attention Company.
