Milan family picks up the pieces after fire destroys their home
MILAN, Tenn. — One local family is sifting though all that’s left after a recent house fire.
On Tuesday, Milan, Gibson County and Medina’s Fire Department were able to work together to put this fire out. There were no injuries or fatalities.
Brittney Taylor, a friend of Brittney Dutton who lost her home in the fire, shares that she saw her friend running down the street from her home with children in her arms.
Dutton and her six children were able able to escape the fire. However her house was damaged and her belongings are ruined.
Through the American Red Cross, Dutton was able to receive temporary housing, some clothes and car seats for her kids.
“Through donations luckily we have gotten several clothes items. We’re still in search of some furniture along with any house in Milan within school district range. We’re looking for a three bedroom, if anyone can get a hold of us or through the family or anything we’re desperately looking for them a house,” said Taylor.
