Authorities recover body of missing man from Kentucky Lake

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE HENRY COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE:

HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — On 9/27/24 at approximately 6:30 pm, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency recovered the body of John Michael Jackson, 22 years of age, from Kentucky Lake.

On 9/25/24 the Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an abandoned vehicle parked on the crest of the Paris Landing bridge. When officers arrived, an investigation was started due to personal belongings being left in the vehicle. Officers believed that the driver of the vehicle, Mr. Jackson, had jumped from the bridge.

Search and rescue efforts were conducted during the evening hours of 9/25/24 and the effort continued on Thursday. Due to inclement weather on Friday, the search and recovery efforts were limited.

On Friday at approximately 6:15 pm, the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency was checking the shoreline at Gray’s landing and spotted the body of Mr. Jackson and the recovery was made.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jackson family and we hope the recovery provides a sense of closure to the family.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the numerous agencies involved in the search and recovery efforts.
