City of Jackson designated Best Place for Working Parents
JACKSON, Tenn. — If you’re a working parent, the Hub City is the perfect place for you.
The City of Jackson earned the Best Place for Working Parents designation, which is presented by the Department of Children and Youth.
All full-time employees qualify for all benefits covering up to 82% in health insurance of a single person and 78% for family coverage. This helps off-set costs for employees.
Mayor Conger tells us they’re competing for quality people by having competitive wages, benefit packages and being able to support working families furthering their career’s.
“One of the things that put us over the top to get to the designation this year was implementing maternity and paternity leave. So, for birthing parents, the mom has six weeks of maternity leave and then the non-birthing parent, whether that be an adopting parent or a dad, get two weeks of bonding time that’s paid for in addition to their sick time and their vacation time,” said Mayor Conger.
Mayor Conger adds that this achievement is essential for recruiting and retaining top talents.
