Jackson Police Department hosts annual ‘National Night Out’ event
JACKSON, Tenn. — One event brings together friends, family and the local police.
The Jackson Police Department hosted their annual National Night Out event Tuesday evening. Residents gathered in downtown Jackson at the police department and across the Hub City, where neighbors and police officers enjoyed food and fellowship.
There were more than 15 community partners and vendors with cool swag, giveaways and valuable resources during this free event.
Sergeant Curtis Cozart with the Jackson Police Department tells us why they hold this event.
“We hold these events to hold ourselves accountable to our community basically. We are not only here to serve and protect but we also want to show that community police inside of ourselves. Not only to our immediate family and people around us but our community as well,” said Sgt Cozart.
Organizers say they are looking forward to next year’s event, which they say will be bigger and better than ever.
