Live action Steel Magnolias play held in north Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Dolly Parton fan favorite is bringing family fun to the Hub City.

Steel Magnolias, directed by Bill Worboys, is a new play based on the 1989 classic film.

Concerned with a group of gossipy southern ladies in a small-town beauty parlor, the play is alternately hilarious, touching, and deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness which underlies the antic banter of its characters.

You can still catch the show on Saturday October 5 at 2 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m., and a special girls night out on Friday October 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bandstand on 120 N. Star Drive.
