Benton County Dispatch Report: September 20-October 3

BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. — The following are full dispatch reports from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, September 20-October 3.

Dispatch

Friday, September 20

Holladay/ Sugar Tree Area
  • Deputy and THP responded to an accident on the interstate. THP advised they needed some assistance with traffic control as a semi swiped another vehicle. Deputy arrived on scene to assist and THP worked the wreck.
Camden Area
  • Deputies responded to a breaking and entering in progress. Caller advised the window was busted out and somebody was trying to enter the residence. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with the intruder. Deputies advised he had already been trespassed from this property and he was taken to Benton County Jail.
  • Deputy responded to a 911 open line. Deputy made scene and advised that it was an accidental dial and everything was ok, they did not need any emergency services.
  • Deputies, EVFD and Forestry responded to a forest/grass fire. Deputies blocked the roadway so fire could get the fire out. Nobody was harmed in the fire. EVA and Forestry were able to get the fire controlled.
  • Deputies, THP and SRFD responded to a vehicle on fire. THP and deputies worked the scene and SRFD was able to get the vehicle fire out.

Saturday, September 21

Holladay/ Sugar Tree Area
  • Nothing to report for this area.
Camden Area
  • Deputy responded to a welfare check on an elderly man. Brother called in a welfare check on him as he hasn’t heard from him in a few days. Deputy arrived on scene and reported there was no vehicle in the driveway and nobody was home. Deputy then later came home to try to make contact again. Contact was made with the elderly man and he advised his house phone wasn’t working and he had somebody come look at it.
  • Deputies and City Officers responded to a call about a female who told her step dad she was going to kill herself. Deputies and City Officers checked multiple residences she could be at. They made contact with her at the last home. Female refused medical treatment and was brought to jail on an active warrant.
  • Deputy responded to a call about a grass on fire. Caller advised they did not see anybody around it. Deputy made scene and advised this was a controlled burn. There were also people here to watch it and call 911 if it got out of hand.
  • Deputy performed a traffic stop for a vehicle who was swerving in the roadway. Deputy advised this person was intoxicated. Deputy did FST’s and the female was taken to the Benton County Jail for DUI.
Eva Area
  • Deputies and NBF responded to gunshots being heard in the woods. NBF advised this was out of their jurisdiction and needed deputy assistance. Deputies found the shooter, and the shooter advised he was shooting at a bear.
Big Sandy Area
  • Chief of Big Sandy police and EMS responded to a tree falling on a male subject in the middle of the roadway. Chief and EMS made scene and advised to get a landing zone for the helicopter. Landing zone setup and male was transported via Airvac.

  • 1 female for DUI, 1 female for joyriding

Sunday, September 22

Holladay/Sugar Tree Area
  • Deputy performed a traffic stop for improper turn. Deputy advised male subjects licence was revoked. He was then taken to Benton County Jail.
Camden Area
  • Deputies responded to a theft not in progress call. Caller advised their cherry picker was stolen. Deputies arrived on scene to do an investigation and reports.
  • Deputy responded to a threat not in progress. Caller advised she was being sent threatening texts from her mother about an EBT card. Deputy arrived on scene and was able to get the EBT card from the mother from down the road and return it to the caller. Deputy also had the caller fill out a statement form for the threats.
  • Deputies and EMS responded to a call about a female not feeling well with little information. EMS advised for a deputy to go out to secure the scene for them. Deputies arrived on scene and secured the scene. EMS ended up transporting female.
  • Deputies, CLFD and EMS responded to an EMS call. Caller advised somebody was bleeding, they needed help and then hung the phone up. EMS advised they needed a deputy to secure the scene. Deputies arrived on scene and advised this would be a self gunshot wound. EMS advised to set up a landing zone. CLFD and Deputies set up a landing zone. Male subject was then transported via airvac.

Big Sandy Area
  • Deputies responded to a call about a suicidal threat. Male subject sent his sister messages stating he was going to kill himself. Deputies arrived on scene and were able to make contact with the male subject. Male stated he was feeling better and he was not suicidal anymore, deputies advised everything was ok.
  • Deputies responded to a breaking and entering not in progress. Caller advised that he had multiple items stolen from him a few days ago and wanted to report this. Deputies arrived on scene and advised nothing was stolen from this home. That the homeowner was having a mental status change and is ok now.

  • 1 male for driving on revoked, 1 female hold for other agency, 1 female hold for other agency

Monday, September 23

HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
  • Holladay McIllwain FD responded to the request for a landing zone off Hwy 641 S for Air Evac.
  • Deputies, EMS and coroner responded to the report of a deceased person. The complainant reported that they had stopped by to check on a friend and found them deceased.
CAMDEN AREA
  • Deputy responded to the 100 block of Mimosa Street for a warrant. Deputy arrested Gregory Mason Cole on a Mittimus warrant.
  • Deputy responded to the request for a welfare check. The complainant reported that a child had showed up on their property and was unsure of where the child came from or who the parents were. The child’s father came and got the child prior to LE’s arrival on scene. Deputy made contact with the child and the father. Deputy advised that everything was okay and that the father was advised on what would happen if we received another report.
  • Deputy responded to the report of a physical domestic disturbance-not in progress. Deputy took the victim’s statement and advised that warrants would be entered.

BIG SANDY AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of a mental status change. The complainant reported a male subject was talking out of his head. Deputy made contact with the male subject and advised that everything was okay.
  • Deputies, EMS and Electric company responded to the report of a single-vehicle accident, vehicle versus pole. Deputy arrested Adam L Beasley on a domestic violence warrant.
ARRESTS
  • 2 arrests made; 1 as previously mentioned and Sara Elizabeth Glission released into our custody from Henry County on FTA Capias warrant.

Tuesday, September 24

Holladay/ Sugar Tree Area
  • Deputies responded to a call about suspicious activity. Caller advised he saw somebody with scrap metal in the back of their truck that did not belong to him and he thinks it belongs to his neighbor. Deputies made scene and advised the metal did belong to the person driving, but the person was trespassing. He was trespassed from that property and advised not to come back or he would be arrested.
Camden Area
  • Deputies responded to a 911 open line. Caller was making some noise and then hung the phone up on 911. Deputies arrived on scene, advised the caller tried to call 911 but her phone died. She was having a verbal altercation with her husband but everything is fine now.
  • Deputy responded to a welfare check called in by the hospital. Hospital advised that there was a female who had an appointment to receive her meds today and she didn’t make it. She then called in saying she was going to harm herself. Deputy made scene and talked to the female. Female advised she was upset earlier but she is fine now and does not want any medical attention.
  • Deputy was attempting to serve papers to a residence. Caller advised while trying to serve papers somebody else was in the home who had a warrant out of henry county. He was taken to the Benton County Jail.
  • Deputy responded to  a911 open line. Deputy made scene and advised everything was ok, it was an accidental dial and everything was ok. They did not need any emergency services.
  • Deputy was patrolling and found a vehicle stuck in the mud. the deputy asked for another deputy to come out. Both deputies were able to get the vehicle back on the roadway.

Big Sandy Area
  • Deputies  and THP responded to an accident with minor injuries. Caller advised she flipped her vehicle over and she was hurt but did not need any EMS. Deputies and THP arrived on scene. THP got the vehicle towed and worked the wreck.

Wednesday, September 25

Holladay/ Sugar Tree Area
  • Deputy and THP responded to a hit and run at the gas station. Deputy and THp arrived on scene, there were no injuries. THP worked the wreck.
  • Deputy responded to a suspicious vehicle call. Caller advised this vehicle kept driving down the road back and forth. Deputy advised they did not make any contact with the vehicle after patrolling the area.
Camden Area
  • Deputy went to a residence to serve a warrant. Person was there and arrested and taken to the Benton County Jail.
  • Deputies responded to a call about an alarm for a residence. Deputies arrived on scene and secured the home, and advised everything was ok and nothing seemed out of place.

Big Sandy Area
  • Deputy responded to a reckless driver call. Caller advised the vehicle was all over the roadway. Deputy made scene and made contact with the vehicle. Deputy performed a traffic stop and advised everything was ok. The driver was new to the area trying to find his way.
  • Deputies responded to a welfare check on an elderly woman who has medical issues. Deputies advised they made contact with the elderly woman and she was ok. She was having phone issues and would call her friend back who was worried.

  • 1 male for vandalism, 1 female for violation of probation

Thursday, September 26

Holladay/ Sugar Tree Area
  • Deputies responded to a vandalism call not in progress. Caller advised that their tire had been slashed by a possible activist group. There was then a second call that another driver had his 8 tires slashed in the same area. Deputies performed an investigation.
  • Deputies responded to a suicidal threats call. Caller advised his fiance had sent him some messages saying that she was going to harm herself and to send a deputy to her location to pick up their kid. Deputies arrived on scene and looked for the vehicle. No signs of the vehicle so we pinged her phone for the safety of her and her child. Female subject ended up driving to elizabeth town where hardin county took over the welfare check of female and child.
  • Deputy responded to a 911 open line. Deputy made scene and advised everything was ok, they accidentally dialed while working outside. They did not need any emergency services.
Camden Area
  • Deputy responded to a 911 open line. Deputy arrived on scene and talked to multiple people whose call logs showed they did not dial 911. Deputy tried the neighbors home and they did not call 911 either. Deputy patrolled the area and everything was ok.
  • Deputy and City Officers responded to a reckless driver call. Caller advised the vehicle was all over the roadway and they didn’t want somebody to get hurt. Deputy and City Officers arrived on scene and stopped the vehicle. City Officers advised that it was juveniles driving, they performed FSTS and they were brought to the PD for their parents to come pick them up.
  • Deputies and THP performed a traffic stop for no tail lights and the driver was texting on the phone. Deputy advised he needed the k9 dog and THP for possible drunk driving. THP and k9 arrived on scene. k9 found drugs and drug paraphernalia. Male driver was arrested and taken to Benton County Jail.

  • Deputy responded to an animal in the roadway. Caller advised there was a horse in the road and she almost hit it. Deputy made scene and advised a neighbor was able to put the horse in a stall until the owner found it. Later the owner was found and got the horse back.

CAMDEN AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of an unwanted subject. The complainant reported that their daughter-in-law was on the property causing a disturbance. Deputy arrived on scene and made contact with the female subject and advised that she was trespassed from the property.
  • Deputy responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle. The complainant reported that a vehicle had been parked in the lot for about an hour before another vehicle showed up. The complainant reported that someone got out of the second vehicle and got into the first vehicle. The complainant reported that the subjects then left but the second vehicle was still in the parking lot. Deputy arrived on scene and checked the vehicle. Deputy advised that the vehicle was unoccupied and everything appeared to be okay.

  • Deputies responded to the request for a welfare check. The complainant reported that a child of one of their employees called them wanting to know where their parent was because the parent was overdue to be home. Deputy went to the residence to make contact with the child. The complainant called back and advised that contact had been made with the parent who now had the juvenile and was enroute to school. Deputy spoke to the parent.
  • Deputy responded to the report of property damage. The complainant reported that a truck pulling a trailer had run through their yard and tore it up. Deputy advised that there was damage pretty far up into the complainant’s yard. Deputy went to the residence of the motorist. Deputy advised that no contact was made with the subject.

  • Deputies responded to the report of an unwanted subject. The complainant advised that their ex-husband was in the complainant’s residence and had also made threats toward the complainant. Deputies arrived on-scene and made contact with the ex-husband. Deputy advised that the male was leaving for the night.

Sunday, September 29

HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of trespassing-not in progress. The complainant reported that a male subject on an ATV tore up the complainant’s yard. Deputy made contact with both parties. Deputy advised that this would be a civil issue and that the parties were discussing it with each other and working out a payment for damages.
CAMDEN AREA
  • Deputies and THP responded to Sales landing Rd for the report of accident-no injuries. The complainant reported that they passed by subjects with a vehicle in the ditch who had advised the complainant that they needed a jump. Deputy arrived on-scene and advised the driver appeared impaired. THP arrested Dedra Nicole Eaves on DUI 1st.

Monday, September 30

Holladay/Sugar Tree Area
  • Deputy responded to a theft not in progress. Caller advised she was looking at camera footage of her store and found a male subject stealing a big ticket item. Deputies made scene and investigated this and made reports.
Camden Area
  • Deputy and THP responded to an accident with no injuries. Caller advised they ran off into the dirtch due to the fog and not being able to see the roadway. Deputy and THP arrived on scene and assessed the scene. THP worked the wreck.
  • Deputy responded to a deer vs vehicle call. Caller advised a deer ran out and hit her and then ran off. Deputy arrived on scene and advised the driver was able to drive her car. Deputy searched the area for the deer and made no contact.
  • Deputies responded to a call about a welfare check. Once Deputies arrived this was actually a call about a woman who was wanting to get an order of protection against her husband for assault and she didn’t know what to do. deputies advised her and put her home on special patrol.
  • Deputies responded to a theft not in progress call. Caller advised her utility trailer was stolen and she wanted this reported stolen. Deputies took a report.
  • Deputy responded to a welfare check on a mother. School called and advised they had a child who had not been picked up from school and they needed to make contact with the mother. Deputy advised the mother hadn’t gone to work today either. Deputy arrived on mothers residence and was able to make contact. Mother was able to get child from school.
  • Deputy responded to a domestic disturbance in progress. Caller advised there was a female subject who was destroying the house. Deputies arrived on scene and found the female had broken her toe. The deputies assessed the scene.

  • Deputy and EMS responded to an ambulance call. Caller advised there was a female having a possible seizure who was foaming and bleeding from the mouth. Deputy arrived on scene and advised she was still breathing, EMS came shortly after and she was transported via ambulance.

Tuesday, October 1

HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of domestic disturbance-in progress. The complainant reported that their child’s father was being violent and standing outside of their car. Male subject was GOA when the deputy arrived on-scene. Deputy spoke to the complainant and took a report.
CAMDEN AREA
  • Deputy assisted THP with a traffic stop. THP arrested David James Booher for driving on a suspended license.
  • Deputy performed a traffic stop. Deputy arrested Jefferson Guy Crowe for driving on revoked license.

Wednesday, October 2

HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
  • Deputies responded to the report of a verbal domestic disturbance-in progress. The complainant reported that their adult daughter would not leave the property when asked. Deputy arrived on-scene and advised a party separation. Deputy advised that the daughter would be leaving for the night.
CAMDEN AREA
  • Deputies responded to the report of an unwanted subject. The complainant reported that male subject was on their property. Deputy made contact with the male subject and advised the male to stay away from the party.
  • Deputy responded to the report of suspicious activity. The complainant reported that there were several juveniles parked and hollering at passersby. Deputy checked that area but did not make any contact.
  • Deputy and Camden FD responded to the report of a fire alarm. Alarm company advised the alert was coming from a smoke detector. Deputy advised everything appeared okay and that CFD were still working the scene and checking the property.
  • Deputy responded to the report of an unwanted subject. The complainant reported that a male subject was asleep in the shed on their property. The complainant advised that the male subject left on foot towards the male’s residence when the deputy arrived on-scene. Deputy made contact with the male subject and trespassed the male from the complainant’s property.

Thursday, October 3

HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of shoplifting at Love’s. Deputy advised that the male subject was trespassed from the business.
  • Deputy, THP, EMS, Air Evac, Rescue Squad, Holladay Mcillwain FD and Animal Control responded to the report of accident-injuries. The complainant reported that a vehicle wrecked and was overturned with one of the passengers entrapped. Deputy advised that several dogs were being transported at the time of the accident. Deputy advised that ACO was able to locate several of the dogs but some were still unaccounted for.
  • Deputy responded to the report of a reckless driver. The complainant reported that a vehicle was swerving and driving past other vehicles at high speed. Deputy performed a traffic stop. Deputy advised that a citation was issued.
CAMDEN AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of theft. The complainant reported that their juvenile daughter took their medication. Deputy advised that the daughter did not have it in her possession and would be leaving for the night. Deputy advised that the complainant would continue looking for the medication.
EVA AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of suspicious activity. The complainant reported that a vehicle was parked near their driveway, playing music loudly, with a male occupant who advised they needed some assistance. Deputy advised the vehicle was unoccupied when they arrived on-scene. Deputy checked the area but no contact was made with the male subject.
BIG SANDY AREA
  • Deputies responded to the report of suspicious activity. The complainant reported that someone knocked on their door but they did not see anyone when they answered. Deputies checked the area and advised that no contact was made with any suspicious persons.
ARRESTS
  • 1 arrest made; James Anthony Braud arrested for Violation of Community Supervision for Life warrant.
