Ribbon cutting held for new playground at Fred Young park
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Tuesday, Madison County celebrated a new addition with a ribbon cutting.
There’s a new ADA accessible playground at the Young Equestrian center at Fred Young Jr. Park.
Thanks to a 1.8 million dollar grant, many improvements will be added to parks in Madison county.
Officials say there are plans for a brand new park in Denmark, a new playground and pavilion at the beech bluff recreation center, a new restroom, pavilion area, and paved parking at Godwin park, plus repavements at Bourne and Pope to help get ready for the 2025 state games.
“Some of the other projects we’re going to have going on with our grant, we’re going to be building a large splash pad at Bourne. That’s going to be a huge hit. We’re going to develop a small community building so we can have some events out there as well. Lots going on and a whole lot more ribbon cuttings coming,” shared Matthew Martin. Martin is the executive director of Madison county parks.
Martin says the county added a new playground to Godwin park a few months ago.
