SWHRA launches student leadership program

HENDERSON, Tenn. — Southwest Human Resource Agency has it’s first student leadership program.

One student from each high school in the eight county region has been selected by their school to attend the program.

The student is transported to the SWHRA central office in Henderson monthly to attend the leadership classes.

The students will discover the diversity and economics of the counties and the need for services provided by SWHRA.

They had a session Tuesday at the Henderson office and talked about how leadership works, and the best characteristics of leadership.

“I really expect this to go really far and I hope, like, we all go out in our communities and back to our schools and use all of this and make it better for everybody,” said McNairy Central student Chloe Strickland.

Students will also discover the collaboration of government, businesses and industry with SWHRA that provides the agency with the opportunities to serve.
