Local health department offering free flu shots during annual ‘Fight Flu’ event
JACKSON, Tenn. — The local health department needs your help to fight the flu.
Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department is hosting its annual ‘Fight Flu’ event.
During this one day event on October 15, the health department will provide free flu vaccines to the public from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. There is no appointment needed on that day.
The health department asks that you enter through the vital statistics lobby at the rear of the building.
“Those who are over 65, have chronic conditions, pregnant women or children are most at risk for those serious complications, so we do encourage them to get a flu vaccine annually,” said Ginger Rowsey, public information officer for the JMCRHD.
The department will give out standard flu shots only. Those who want a higher dose flu shot or a Covid-19 vaccine should make an appointment by calling them at 731-423-3020.
