Suspect in custody, facing murder charge for fatal shooting in south Jackson

Update: Susan Cove Homicide

Jackson, TN – On September 19, 2024, at approximately 8:00 pm, officers from the Jackson Police Department were dispatched to a shooting at 5 Susan Cove in Jackson, TN.

Upon arrival, they found 41-year-old Ryan Mills in the yard of the residence with multiple gunshot wounds.

At the same time, a 29-year-old male, Arthur Johnson, was discovered nearby suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Ryan Mills was taken to a local hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Arthur Johnson was also taken to a local hospital and received treatment for his injuries.

On Monday, October 7, 2024, Johnson was charged with First Degree Murder and is currently in custody at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex.

He is being held with no bond.
